Onboarding a new organisation
Joining or creating an organisation, and what each onboarding step asks for.
01Join it or create it
Onboarding starts with a search. Type your organisation’s name: if it is already on Able you can request to join it, and an admin there approves you. If it is not, the name you typed becomes the new organisation and the steps begin.
02Do you have an NZBN?
Answer yes and type the number, and the matching Companies Register entry is fetched. Confirming it creates the organisation with the register’s own details, which carry into the next steps. Answer no and you type the details yourself. An NZBN can be added later in settings.
03Make it official
The organisation’s name and its legal shape, in the register’s own vocabulary. Everything else can wait.
04How do people reach you?
Email, phone and address, all optional. They are used for confirmations and invoices, and shown only where you choose. Any of it changes later in settings.
05How big is the team?
Rosters, roles and permissions size themselves to the answer. It changes any time.
06When are you open?
Your public page shows today’s hours and the full week. Leave the step empty and set the hours later in settings.
07Colour and images
Pick your colour, and add a logo and banner if they are handy. Every part of this step can be skipped and the page still looks considered.
08Your page, then public when you say
The last step is your page itself, and you edit everything before anyone sees it. Going public is a choice on that screen: public means listed and findable in search, and private means nobody can find the page yet. The switch lives in Organisation settings under Public info, in both directions.
