What is the Able Directory API?
Host a directory of Able profiles and serve it to your own systems.
01What it is
Turning the Directory API on creates a directory this organisation hosts. Your server calls one address with a credential pair and receives every profile listed in it, whole: description, pictures, contact details, hours, FAQ, social links, offerings and forms. Every link in the response opens the real thing on Able, straight into the enquiry.

- Other organisations can list their public profile in your directory.

- Only your own profile is served, for pulling your data into your own systems.
02The token and the secret
The token names your directory and the secret proves it is you. Requests carry both in one Authorization header. Tapping either field on the Directory API screen copies its value, and the secret is held encrypted on our servers like every provider token.
03Hiding a profile
Every listed profile has a switch. Turning it off keeps the listing but stops serving that profile, and the organisation sees it is hidden. Removing a listing is always the listed organisation’s own act, never yours.
04What it costs
Calls are counted monthly. Your plan includes an allowance, and calls past it accrue a per thousand rate into your transaction fees at month end. The Usage tab shows the running count and the estimate before anything is charged.
