How do handles and visibility work?
Claim a handle, pick how far the card reaches, save.
01Claim a handle
A handle is your card's address — 3 to 30 lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, served at /r/your-handle. Handles are first-come: if yours is taken you'll see an error and can pick another.
02Shared by link vs Public
Both serve the same card at your address, and neither is indexed by search engines or listed in any directory — Shared by link states the intent that only people you hand the link to will find it. Switching back to private takes the card down entirely; the address then answers the same not-found page as a handle that never existed.
