Setting up a schedule
Every field on the schedule form, what it means, and how the session interval staggers starts.
01Every week, or set dates
Repeats decides the schedule’s shape. Every week runs on the weekdays you pick, between one start and one end time that apply to each of those days. Set dates lists specific dates, and each date carries its own start and end. Every week suits an ongoing pattern such as weekday mornings. Set dates suits a run of workshops or a term. Switching between the two keeps what you typed in both halves; only the saved schedule commits to one shape.
- Name
- A short name your team will recognise, such as Weekday mornings. Customers never see it.
- Days
- The weekdays a weekly schedule runs. A day not picked offers no times.
- Starts and Ends
- The first possible session start and the time the last session must finish by.
02Sessions: duration, interval and places
The Sessions block turns the open hours into individual bookable times.
- Session duration
- How long one session takes, in minutes. It also shows on the offering card so a customer knows what they are booking.
- Session interval
- How often a new session can start. Left empty, sessions run back to back: a new one starts as the previous one ends.
- Places per session
- How many bookings one session can take. One place makes it one to one. The session reads full once its places are taken.
03Staggered starts
An interval smaller than the duration staggers the starts, and sessions overlap on purpose. With 60 minute sessions and a 15 minute interval, a new session can start every 15 minutes, so up to 4 run at once. This fits work where each booking occupies a person or a station rather than the whole venue, such as a salon chair or a fitting. An interval equal to or larger than the duration does not stagger anything: the sessions simply run back to back or with a gap.
04Venue
Where the sessions happen: a registered venue on Able, or your own location typed in. Customers see the location with their booking. An offering that runs in more than one place uses one schedule per place, and the checkout asks the customer where before offering times.
05Changing a schedule later
Edits apply to the times offered from then on. Bookings already made keep the time they were made for; changing a schedule never moves or cancels an existing booking.
